Fibromyalgia can be a very dehabalating condition causing pain in muscles and joints, chronic fatigue, and tender points on multiple parts of the body.in fact this is the most common way doctors diagnose this condition where there is pain in eleven or more points in the body, at the moment there is no other way of diagnosing this painful condition, ie blood tests, scans mri etc.
Tender points are usually located in the upper back and chest, neck, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles and abdomen, also with these symptoms patients report feeling very tired and often feel they have to go to bed and could spend a lot of time sleeping, also they report increase of symptoms if they are after having a busy day or stressful day be it at work or in the home place. Although there is no known cure for fibromylgia it responds very well to Acupuncture, physical therapy especially with an emphasis in myofascial stretching, trigger point therapy, cupping and hyjama cupping. Foods to best avoid are sugar, artificial sweeteners, dairy gluten, alcohol and refined salt, use sea salt or hymalian rock salt instead.
I would highly recommend sufferers to take up yoga and regular exercise, hypothermia treatment and saunas as well as swimming in heated pools can be very beneficial
